To those seeing Chappell Roan for the first time, it may seem like she’s experiencing overnight success as she graced The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 20.
The singer wore a wild feathered black outfit for her chat with the host before completely putting on a different feather-bedecked dress to perform her latest single, “Good Luck, Babe!”
“You’re known for your on-stage looks,” Fallon says during their interview, pulling out a collage of Roan at events like Governors Ball, where she came fully glammed as the Statue of Liberty.
“We pull from drag, we pull from horror movies, we pull from burlesque, we pull from theater,” Roan told Fallon of the looks she and her stylist, Genesis Webb, come up with. “I love looking pretty and scary. Or like, pretty and tacky. Or just not pretty! I love that too,” she added.
Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” performance was a sweet treat for the audience.
