Kate Middleton looks both fragile and resilient at trooping the color after saying that she has both “good days” and “bad days” amid her ongoing cancer treatment.
“She might be the Princess of Wales, but she is still a mother and wife and going through the same set of emotions and worries and fears as anyone else in that set of circumstances would be,” Ailsa Anderson, former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth, tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s cover story.
The Princess of Wales, 42, emitted strength during her first public appearance in nearly six months at King Charles’s official birthday parade in London on June 15, but a source close to the royal household adds, “The treatment is punishing, and it is different for different people. And the side effects can be unforgiving.”
Those close to her say that she finds relief in the routines of daily life with her family, including her children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
