Tina Knowles Beyoncé’s Mother, Voices Her Support For VP Kamala Harris’s Presidential Endorsement

Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, fully supports Vice President Kamala Harris becoming the next U.S. president, and she made her support clear as Harris seeks the Democratic nomination.

Just after President Joe Biden ended his reelection bid Sunday, the “Ya Ya” singer’s mom, like many other well-known politicians and figures, immediately showed support for Harris’ campaign.

On an Instagram post, Knowles shared a photo of her with the vice president. In the caption, she wrote, “New, Youthful, Sharp, energy!!!! You asked for it and our President Biden did what was best for the country! Putting personal Ego, power, and fame aside. That is the definition of a great leader. Thank you, President Biden, for your service and your leadership. Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President.”

She signed off the post by saying, “Let’s Go #kamala2024.”

Later Knowles shared a post from the account Hues and Culture to her page saying: “Kamala Harris is running for President, and the hate she’s getting is unreal. Remember what Malcolm X said: ‘The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman.’ Kamala’s got the credentials — from her political grind to her college smarts — not to mention no felonies on her record, which can’t be said about some of her opponents. She’s out here proving she’s more than qualified. It’s time we lift her and give her the respect she deserves.”

The Knowles support may not come as a surprise. Last summer, Harris attended Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert just outside of Washington after the superstar gifted her tickets.

Biden announced he was pulling out of the 2024 presidential race in a letter penned to the American people after weeks of speculation. He wrote, “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and my country for me to stand down and to focus solely on my duties as President for the rest of my term.”

Biden also said he was giving his “full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.”

Others who have endorsed Harris’ bid for president against former President Donald Trump include Sen. Elizabeth WarrenGov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Cori Bush, and more.

And while the vice president said she was honored to have the president’s endorsement, she said, “I intend to earn and win this nomination.”
